Ted
joined the Firm’s personal training staff in the summer of 2008 and became the
facility manager and assistant director of training in June of 2010. Married and the father of two, Ted brings to
the firm over 20 years of experience in personal training, martial arts
instruction, and sports performance training.
With
the completion of his Master’s degree in Exercise Science, from Western
Michigan University in 1991, Dabbs located to Bergen County, NJ, and became a
full-time fitness professional. While
there, Ted served as the director of training at The Sports Conditioning
Institute and became the owner of The Body Coach, a 7,000 sf. health club.
Dabbs
experiences have included coaching track and field at Division I Universities,
high school and middle school athletic teams, as well as teaching Physical
Education and Health classes. Other notable
accomplishments have included training Mrs. Georgia 2004, coaching for Velocity
Sports Performance, coaching a 68 year old in the 1999 Senior Olympics and
preparing him for his black belt at age 70.
Ted
began Tae Kwon Do in 1992, under Sensei Dr. Michael Evangel, and achieved Black
Belt rank in November, 1998. That same
year, he began training as a white belt in the Heiho-Shin-Do system of Shodi
Sensei, Richard Faustini, and achieved Black Belt in July 2010. Ted served as an assistant Tae Kwon Do
instructor for five years at Faustini’s Institute of Martial Arts
and Fitness. Dabbs is a former college football player, decathlete and amateur kick boxer. He has made guest appearances as a fitness expert on WVNJ-AM radio's Health, Fitness and Safety Hour and New Jersey's Talking Television show, Channel 12. His extensive experience has included kick boxing instruction, group fitness & self-defense classes, a speaker/lecturer for self defense, nutrition lifestyle management and sports performance trainings.
