Hello FIRM Members,
My name is Ted Dabbs and as a new addition to the FIRM personal training staff, I just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I bring nearly 20 years of experience in personal training, martial arts instruction, and sports performance training.
I am a former college football player, decathlete, and amateur kick boxer. Throughout my career, I have trained people from all walks of life, both young and old. I have developed specialized programs for professional dancers, tennis players, and cyclists. I coached at Division I Universities, high schools, and middle schools, as well as taught Phys. Ed. and Health. I trained Mrs. Georgia United States 2004, coached a 68 year old in the 1999 Senior Olympics, and helped the same gentleman obtain his black belt at age 70.
While residing in New Jersey, I owned and operated a 7,000 sf. Health Club called the Body Coach. I have made several guest appearances as a fitness expert on WVNJ-AM radio’s Health, Fitness, and Safety Hour and New Jersey’s Talking Television show, Channel 12.
Recently relocating to Delaware from Georgia with my wife and 2 1/2 year old boy/girl twins, I am currently teaching children’s martial arts and women’s self defense programs in the Rehoboth Beach area. I have been training and teaching in the martial arts since 1991 and am currently teaching at The Firm Fitness Center. I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and have studied Ju-Jitsu and Russian Sambo.
I have extensive experience teaching group fitness & self-defense classes, and have been a speaker/lecturer for self defense, nutrition, lifestyle management, and sports performance training seminars.
